During the maintenance in the work,the Pneumatic FRL Triple Unit (including pressure regulators, filters, lubricators, etc.) often encounters four typical problems. Based on practical experience, the following listed fault phenomena, causes, and solutions are for your quick reference.
Problem 1: Air Leakage at the Regulator Handle
Possible causes and countermeasures:
· The Inlet and outlet port are installed itn the wrong order that damage the the internal seal → Which is advised to be installed according to the arrow direction on the housing.
· The diaphragm beneath the handle is damaged → Replace with a diaphragm of the same specification.
· The ejector pin spring inside the filter element is stuck → Clean or replace the spring.
Problem 2: The output airflow decreases after a while.
Common causes:
· Outlet pressure is set too low → Turn the regulator handle clockwise to increase the set pressure.
· The filter element is clogged with contaminants → Remove and clean, or directly replace the filter element.
Problem 3: The Lubricator bowl cannot drip oil properly
Inspection steps:
· Check that the oil type which is correct or not. Use only special lubricator oil or No.1 transparent white oil. Do not use ordinary engine oil.
· Check the oil passage below the sight glass is blocked or not → Use a thin steel wire or compressed air to clear the blockage.
Problem 4: Water accumulation Cannot Be Drained from the Bowl
This is usually caused by debris which block the drain port or the automatic drainer. Solution: Disassemble the bowl, clean the drain port and automatic drainer with gasoline or diesel, then let them dry completely before assembly.
Maintenance Reminders
· Parts must be thoroughly dried after cleaning to prevent residual solvent from corroding the seals.
· For equipment that has not been maintained for a long time, it is recommended to check whether the seals have become hardened or aged, and replace them as your need.
